The Carpathian Civil Society Platform Launches their Website and Virtual Hub

The Carpathian Civil Society Platform has launched its website, which aims to facilitate more effective cooperation between civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Carpathian region.

CSOs and NGOs can also register on the website to be part of the Virtual Hub, which gives organizations access to browse the profiles of other registered organizations and learn about current funding opportunities for their cross-border cooperation projects.

The Carpathian Civil Society Platform initiative started six years ago as an intensive dialogue with participating civil society organizations (CSOs), working in bordering regions of five countries: Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine.

The Platform is an interregional network of the Carpathians that aims to coordinate CSOs by amplifying the effect of their activities at local, sub-regional and inter-regional levels, and generating and disseminating innovative solutions for resolving socio-economic challenges of communities.

The Platform and Hub is part of the Interreg Central Europe project Central Mountains: From the Alps to the Carpathians – strengthening governance models for sustainable development of mountain areas in Central Europe, which aims to strengthen and improve governance models in mountain areas of Central Europe (the Alps, Carpathians and Sudetes), with particular emphasis on cross-border and transnational cooperation structures. The Carpathian Convention Secretariat supports various activities of the project, particularly the development of the Alpine-Carpathian joint strategy for community-led sustainable development of mountain areas in Central Europe and the Action Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development.
