Celebrating 21 Years of the Carpathian Convention

🌍Today marks the 21st anniversary of the Carpathian Convention, a landmark agreement dedicated to the protection and sustainable development of the Carpathian region.

Since its inception on May 22, 2003, the Convention has played a pivotal role in fostering cooperation among the Carpathian countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.

Over the past two decades, the Carpathian Convention, together with many stakeholders, has achieved remarkable milestones including the recent adoption of the Carpathian Biodiversity Framework, which provides an ambitious vision on living in harmony with nature in the Carpathians until 2050!

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing our journey towards a greener, more sustainable future for the Carpathians. Thank you to all the dedicated individuals, organizations, and governments who have worked tirelessly to make the Carpathian Convention a success!

Here’s to many more years of protecting and nurturing the heart of Europe.
