Mountains connect: Collaboration and partnership across mountain ranges

Event focus:

The world’s mountain regions are facing similar challenges in terms of accelerated climate change impacts, and there is a need to shift the understanding of mountain realities from the periphery towards the centre of global climate and environment discourse.

Building on the Internation Year of Sustainable Mountain Development 2022 and the Mountains Connect workshop, this event at COP27 aims to share lessons learned around:

1) Regional and interregional collaboration for climate change adaptation and sustainable climate-resilient development in mountain areas

2) Promote the Mountains Connect virtual space (www.mountains-connect.org) as an online source of information about transboundary mountain governance
