Carpathian Ministerial Conference
21 - 22 November 2022, Rzeszów, Poland
Poland, in its capacity of the Presidency of the Carpathian Convention, hosted the Carpathian Ministerial Conference on 21 – 22 November 2022 in Rzeszów, Poland, which allowd for high-level discussion on topics that are highly relevant from the regional and international perspective. The programme of the Conference will focus on two main subjects: 1) biodiversity in the Carpathians and the post-2020 global biodiversity framework, giving a particular attention to the role of the Carpathian Convention in implementation of that framework and 2) situation in Ukraine with regard to direct and indirect impacts of the war on the environment and possible measures needed to address their consequences.

In this respect, two Ministerial Declarations were adopted:
- Ministerial Declaration of the Carpathian Convention on Carpathian Commitments for the implementation of the new post 2020 global biodiversity framework
- Ministerial Declaration of the Carpathian Convention on the impact of war in Ukraine on the environment and the need for cooperation and assistance
- Report on impact of war on natural environment of the Carpathians in Ukraine – background document for the Ministerial Conference and commissioned by the Polish Presidency of the Carpathian Convention
