Side Event on mainstreaming the conservation and sustainable use of mountain biodiversity for wellbeing

The Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention together with the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the EU, and with the technical and financial support of UN Environment, is organizing a side event during the 13th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, to be held in Cancun, Mexico from 4 to 17 December 2016.
The official side event of the Slovak EU Council Presidency will focus on the concept of mainstreaming the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for well-being in transboundary mountain regions drawing on the experiences and best practices of the Carpathians, as well as other mountain regions. The side event is scheduled for 9 December at 18:15.
One of the objectives of the side event is launching an interactive knowledge sharing platform showcasing successful stories of mainstreaming biodiversity into other sectors of the Carpathians. The link to the online platform will be shared and promoted after launching on 9 December.
