Mountain Week and World Environment Day (WED)

Mountain Week, a unique opportunity to celebrate mountains, will take place during Expo 2015 from 4th to 11th June 2015.
The idea of launching a week-long event promoting sustainable mountain development and the mountain products from all around the world was initiated by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, and now being organized in collaboration with the Alpine Convention, the Carpathian Convention and other relevant partners.
The final event of the Mountain Week will be focused on green marketing for mountain food products and will take place on 11th June 2015 at EXPO biodiversity Park – Theatre at the Centre of the Earth (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
World Environment Day 2015 (WED2015) will be an integral part of the Mountain Week. The presence of the Carpathians will be clearly marked by the Czech Republic in its capacity of the presiding country to the Carpathian Convention, which is organizing a seminar on Climate Change Adaptation in Mountain Regions.
