Workshop - Stressing the role of mountains in European macro regional strategies

The meeting aims at bringing together stakeholders of the European macro regional strategies relevant for the territories of Central, South and Eastern Europe, for a discussion on the possible ways for mainstreaming and profiling mountains at a more regional level.
This two half days workshop will focus on the importance of macro regional strategies for the sustainable development of trans-boundary regions, taking into account the importance of mountains in linking different areas and environments within the European continent. Moreover, this meeting will be an opportunity for mountain stakeholder to exchange experiences and best practices in the field of sustainable development.
The results of this first meeting will be shared and presented at the upcoming meeting “Shaping the Carpathian Region in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR)”, organized by the Interim Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention (ISCC) at the margins of the Third EUSDR Danube Annual Forum on June 27 in Vienna, Austria.
